Howard Bloom Interview

Howard Bloom discusses his book, The Lucifer Principle.

Review/Notes:

This disinfo.com production is an interview with Howard Bloom, author of The Lucifer Principle. The book is pretty good, in my opinion. He has a lot of statements worth contemplating. This includes the general understanding of the savage garden of nature, an explanation of super-organisms, what is a "meme" and how does it tie in with evolution? For those aspects alone I highly recommend this book. I have to say that I found some of his arguments in the video a little weak. I also have a problem with his statement about the necessity of killing the savage parts of ourselves. Denying parts of yourself only leads to inner conflict and fragmentation. All parts of ourselves need to be accepted and integrated into consciousness.

Just because we have developed a neo-cortex doesn't mean that our brain stem or "reptile brain" isn't necessary or useful. To supplement your knowledge of why condemning your roots is unproductive, I would recommend reading Integral Spirituality by modern philosopher Ken Wilber. It goes into quite a bit more than that and I definitely found it worth reading. It goes a long way towards achieving a truly holistic life path that includes all aspects of development from body, heart, mind and spirit to social and integral.

Trump 3 - The Empress

The Empress Tarot Card

The above Tarot image is one of the 22 Major Arcana cards used by the Whare-Ra Temple of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in New Zeland.

One method of learning the Tarot is to colour your own set of images. Read an article about this here. Throughout this site are all 22 images that you can save to your computer and print out for colouring. Just right-click on the image and select "Save Image."

This is the fourth in the series. Clicking directly on the image will bring you to the page on this site that contains the next image in the traditional sequence. I have also created a Site Map based on this sequence to provide an easy method of finding any specific Tarot image.
